Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Morgantown, West Virginia 26505
• Unit: Cardiac Care Unit (CVICU), 10-bed facility
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (option to extend)
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts/week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), weekdays and weekends
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:2 (may include step-down patients)
• EMR System: Cerner

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU RN experience
• Active Registered Nurse license in West Virginia or compact state (pending license considered)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (American Heart Association)
• Proficiency with open-heart admissions, cardiac surgery, Swan-Ganz catheter management, Impella device monitoring, and CRRT
• Ability to provide two references from manager or charge nurse within the past 2 years
• Must live at least 100 miles from facility (exceptions for 75-100 miles possible)
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Travel nursing experience preferred but not required

CVICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver care for post-cardiothoracic surgery patients (CABG, valve replacements, thoracotomies)
• Manage complex cardiac cases: STEMI, cardiogenic shock, post-code, cath lab complications
• Monitor and manage advanced cardiac devices: Swan-Ganz, Impella, CRRT, IABP, LVAD/RVAD
• Assist with arterial line management, chest tube procedures, and blood product administration
• Interpret ABGs and cardiac dysrhythmias; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, rapid response)
• Float to Medical ICU or Step Down Unit as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner EMR system
