Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Illinois RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (two attempts allowed)
Strong clinical assessment and communication skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients on a busy Med/Surg unit
Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
Administer medications and perform treatments as ordered by healthcare providers
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Educate patients and families on care plans and post-discharge instructions
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
