Location: Odessa, TX 79761 (West Texas)
Unit: Med/Surg Tele (Unit 6110 - Flexpool)
Job Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
Start Date: January 13, 2026
End Date: April 14, 2026
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 - 07:15)
Weekly Hours: 36 (option for 48 hours or alternating 36/48)
Patient Ratio: Up to 6:1
Float Requirement: Must be willing to float to other Med/Surg Tele units

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Texas RN license (Registered Nurse)
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
NIHSS (Stroke Scale) certification
Minimum 1 year recent experience in Med/Surg Tele nursing
Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
Ability to work night shifts and float as needed
Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
COVID-19 vaccine not required
Travel nurses must reside outside a 50-mile radius from Odessa, TX

RN Job Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients
Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress
Administer prescribed medications and treatments
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal outcomes
Float to other Med/Surg Tele units as needed
Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner (preferred)
Offer compassionate support and education to patients and families
