ICU RN Job Details – Texas Nursing Jobs

• Location: Bay City, Texas 77414
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/19/2025 – End: 3/20/2026)
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – ICU (6 beds)
• Nursing Shifts: 12-hour days (7am–7pm), rotating schedule including weekends and holidays
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Orientation: 2 days of ICU-specific orientation
• Floating: May float to MedSurg or ER based on experience

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Texas or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience required (2-3 years preferred)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (must have PALS at time of submission), TNCC (preferred), NIHSS (preferred)
• Proficiency with ventilators and cardiac drips
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
• Ability to work every other weekend and holiday
• Completion of health education modules prior to start

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in a 6-bed ICU
• Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as Afib, RVR, sepsis, respiratory failure, severe anemia, GI bleeds, trauma, DKA, and post-surgical cases
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips, sedation, antiarrhythmics, insulin, and other critical medications
• Operate and manage ventilators (Puritan Bennett 840) and respond to respiratory emergencies
• Collaborate with hospitalists, ER physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Float to MedSurg or ER as needed, based on nursing experience
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment for patients and families
