Job Details – Alabama Nursing Jobs

Location: Birmingham, AL 35243 – Discover a vibrant city with rich history, diverse culture, and scenic parks. Birmingham is a hub for healthcare professionals seeking travel nurse jobs in Alabama.

Unit: Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg)
Start Date: January 12, 2026
End Date: April 13, 2026
Duration: 13-week contract
Shift: 12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM), alternating weekends
Hours per Week: 36

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Alabama or compact state
BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in the Med/Surg unit
Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
Educate patients and families on care plans and post-discharge instructions
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR
Float to other hospital units as needed to support patient care
