Registered Nurse Job Details

Location: West Des Moines, IA 50266
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/19/2026 – End: 4/20/2026)
Healthcare Setting: Med Surg 4 West (30 beds)
Nursing Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts per week (36 hours/week)
Schedule: Every other weekend, including holiday rotation
On-Call: None
Scrubs: Navy Blue, solids
EMR System: EPIC
Floating: Required across all campuses (Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, Iowa Methodist)

RN Qualifications

Active Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license
BLS certification (AHA)
Minimum 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
At least one completed travel nurse assignment in the past 12 months
Post-op surgical nursing experience preferred
Ability to float to other campuses as needed
Submission of work history/resume, recent skills checklist, license verification, and references
Proof of taxable address (driver’s license, utility bill, lease, etc.)

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to med/surg and post-op patients
Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and accurately document care using EPIC EMR
Float to other units and campuses as required to support patient care needs
Participate in scheduled holiday and weekend rotations
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
