Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Decatur, IL 62526 (Central Illinois nursing jobs)
- Unit: Family Birth Center (18 beds)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: January 19, 2026
- End Date: April 20, 2026
- Shifts: 3x12 or 4x12 hour night shifts (18:00 – 06:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse, On-Site
- Charting System: Cerner
- Scrubs: Provided
- Parking: Free with permit
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Active Illinois RN license or eligibility to apply (Illinois nursing jobs)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring (AHA or Red Cross only)
- Experience in Antepartum, High Risk Antepartum, Level I Nursery, LDRP, and Mother/Baby care
- Proficiency in Cerner charting system preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Ability to float to Pediatrics unit as needed
- Availability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment overlaps
L&D RN Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, including high-risk deliveries
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and post-operative recovery
- Perform antepartum care: sterile speculum exams, NSTs, OCTs, triage, and electronic fetal monitoring (EFM)
- Administer medications and therapies: antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate, pitocin, prostaglandins
- Start and maintain IVs, administer blood products, and monitor infusion pumps
- Conduct newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and discharge teaching
- Provide postpartum care: episiotomy/incisional care, fundus/lochia/perineum care, wound assessment
- Educate and support families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
- Maintain strict adherence to isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Float to Pediatrics unit as needed to support facility needs
