Shift: 12-hour day shifts
Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/5/2026 – End: 4/6/2026)
Charting System: MEDITECH

PCU RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA required)
Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
At least 1 successful previous travel nursing assignment
Experience in emergency departments (ED) caring for STEMI and stroke patients
Strong professional references from recent healthcare assignments

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the ER holding area
Manage patient ratios of 1:4-5, adjusted for acuity
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using Spacelabs monitors; document and save strips in MEDITECH
Administer and manage all types of IV drips as required
Collaborate with ED physicians, physician assistants (PAs), nurse practitioners (NPs), and respiratory therapists (RTs)
Respond to diverse patient needs including cardiac, neuro, orthopedic, and critical care cases
Draw labs independently (no phlebotomy support in ER)
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in MEDITECH
