- Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
- Unit: PCU Registered Nurse for ER Holding Area (Stepdown)
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/5/2026 – End: 4/6/2026)
- Charting System: MEDITECH
PCU RN Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
- At least 1 successful previous travel nursing assignment
- Experience in emergency departments (ED) caring for STEMI and stroke patients
- Strong professional references from recent healthcare assignments
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the ER holding area
- Manage patient ratios of 1:4-5, adjusted for acuity
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using Spacelabs monitors; document and save strips in MEDITECH
- Administer and manage all types of IV drips as required
- Collaborate with ED physicians, physician assistants (PAs), nurse practitioners (NPs), and respiratory therapists (RTs)
- Respond to diverse patient needs including cardiac, neuro, orthopedic, and critical care cases
- Draw labs independently (no phlebotomy support in ER)
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in MEDITECH
