Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care on the Medical-Surgical unit
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Educate patients and families on care plans and post-discharge instructions
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment in compliance with healthcare regulations
