Telemetry RN Job Details – Olathe, KS
- Assignment Type: Travel Nurse
- Location: Olathe, Kansas 66061 (Johnson County)
- Unit: Telemetry (Unit 2 South/North Tele/Med Surg)
- Start Date: February 1, 2026 (flexible start dates available)
- End Date: March 15, 2026
- Duration: 6-week nursing contract
- Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: One major holiday per season (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's)
- On-Call: None
- Floating: Float to all acute care units as needed
- Orientation: Comprehensive orientation with Epic EMR training
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience in a hospital setting (within the last 18 months)
- Clinical experience in General Surgery, Bariatric, Gynecological, Urology, and Orthopedics
- Proficient in managing medical diagnoses such as cellulitis, back pain, and kidney stones
- Skilled in Heparin drips, TPN, PCAs, and telemetry rhythm interpretation
- Active Kansas RN or Compact RN License
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- Ability to attend scheduled orientation and training
- New graduate nurses are not eligible
Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to telemetry and med/surg patients
- Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and manage complex therapies (Heparin drips, TPN, PCAs)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Float to other acute care units as needed to support patient care
- Accurately document patient care activities in the Epic EMR system
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including a nicotine-free workplace
