Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Location: Baytown, TX 77521 (Houston area – Texas healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: Cardiac Stepdown / Cardiac Cath Lab
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 18, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Hours per Week: 40
• Shift: 10-hour days (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM), rotating schedule with on-call (1 weekend every 6 weeks, 4-5 weekdays during a 6-week period)
• On-Call Requirement: Must be within 30 minutes of the facility when on call

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas RN license preferred)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2-3 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown or Cath Lab nursing experience
• Proficiency with EPIC and Mac-Lab clinical systems
• Skilled in interpreting cardiac rhythms
• Experience with IABP, Impella, and OCTIVUS cardiac devices

Cardiac Stepdown Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and cath lab patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; respond to changes in patient condition
• Assist with cardiac procedures and interventions using specialized equipment (IABP, Impella, OCTIVUS)
• Accurately document patient care in EPIC and Mac-Lab systems
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to patient needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
