Job Details – Wisconsin Homecare Hospice RN

• Location: Wauwatosa, WI (53213) and Milwaukee area
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing job
• Healthcare Setting: Homecare Hospice (field-based)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, every Saturday and Sunday (8am-8pm)
• Hours per Week: 24
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/5/2026, End: 4/4/2026)
• Orientation: Comprehensive onboarding including equipment pick-up, EPIC EMR training, and precepted shifts
• Scrub Color: Navy blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in Wisconsin
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of clinical RN experience (Zilber Family Hospice accepts 1 year; other locations may require 2 years)
• Proficient in IV therapy, chest tube maintenance, catheter insertion, tube feedings, wound care, and wound vac
• Skilled in hospice and palliative care, pain and symptom management (pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical)
• Experience with opioid administration and equianalgesic tables
• Strong documentation skills using EMR systems (EPIC preferred)
• Independent critical thinker and problem solver
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for field visits

RN Responsibilities – Homecare Hospice

• Deliver compassionate hospice nursing care to patients in homes and community settings
• Conduct daily end-of-life visits, PRN visits for symptom management, and routine nursing visits
• Provide skilled nursing care including IV therapy, wound care, medication administration, and symptom management
• Accurately document all care provided in the EMR system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members for holistic patient care
• Educate patients and families on disease progression, symptom management, and care expectations
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a field-based, independent nursing role
