Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Mississippi or compact state
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical unit
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed
  • Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge care
  • Float to other hospital units as needed to support patient care
