Key Job Details – ICU RN Travel Assignment
- Location: Roanoke, VA 24014 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Unit: Whole House Resource Pool (ICU/PCU/MS Float)
- Start Date: January 12, 2026
- End Date: April 13, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks (extensions up to 52 weeks available)
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18:45 - 07:15); 4x12s available
- Hours per Week: 36
- Charting System: EPIC
- Orientation: 24 hours
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (Virginia or Compact State)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience in a Level I or II hospital
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- EPIC charting experience
- Ability to float between ICU, PCU, and Med/Surg units; comfortable with patient ratios up to 1:6
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Preferred: Previous charge nurse and Level I Trauma experience
ICU RN Responsibilities
- Float between ICU, PCU, and Med/Surg units as needed (may float 2-3 times per shift)
- Deliver high-quality patient care to adult and geriatric populations
- Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial and central line management, and blood product administration
- Manage ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, suctioning (ETT, NT), and continuous IV sedation
- Interpret cardiac monitoring, manage dysrhythmias, titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips, and respond to emergencies
- Participate in rapid response/code teams and follow infection prevention protocols
- Work at least one holiday per 13-week contract and fulfill weekend shift requirements (6 shifts per 6-week block)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
