• Facility: Heart Hospital – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 12-hour shifts (18:30 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Unit Size: 55 beds
• Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
• Weekend Requirement: Rotating, as needed
• Float Requirement: Yes, to similar units as needed
• Charting System: EPIC
• Scrub Color: Any (no logo)

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New Mexico or Compact State RN license (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience (2 years preferred)
• Cardiovascular nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; CPI preferred
• First-time travel nurses welcome to apply
• Willingness to float to similar units as needed
• Proficient in cardiac telemetry, central line care, chest tube management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and post-cardiac procedure care
• Experience with EPIC electronic charting system preferred

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting
• Monitor and manage patients with cardiovascular conditions, including CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, and post-cardiac procedures
• Administer medications, manage cardiac drips, and perform wound care as needed
• Interpret cardiac telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the EPIC charting system
• Float to similar nursing units within scope as required by facility needs
• Participate in rotating weekend coverage as needed
