Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87114 (New Mexico healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) Unit – 2W
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (18:30 - 07:00)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Orientation: 36 hours onsite
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Scrubs: Any color, no logos

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active NM or Compact RN license (required at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Community hospital nursing experience
• Ability to float to similar units or assist as needed

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a 24-bed Med/Surg unit
• Administer medications, including blood products, Heparin, and Insulin
• Implement isolation precautions and manage peripheral lines
• Start and maintain IVs; operate PCA pumps
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, and Radiology
• Float to like units or provide clinical support in other areas as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
• Work every other weekend as scheduled
