ER RN Job Details

• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87109
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Room (ER), Level II Trauma Center
• Contract Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Weekend Coverage: Required (minimum 3 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
• Floating: Required to Medical-Surgical (MS) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New Mexico or Compact RN license (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room RN experience
• Previous Charge RN experience required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (CPI, NIHSS, TNCC, NRP/ENPC, STABLE preferred)
• Experience with Epic EMR charting system preferred
• Community hospital and Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Ability to float to MS/ICU units as needed
• Experience managing 4-5 patients per nurse

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Serve as Charge RN during night shifts in a high-volume Emergency Department
• Deliver patient care to neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Perform triage and provide initial medical care for strokes, STEMIs, major trauma, and pediatric emergencies
• Administer blood products, manage arterial and central lines, care for ventilated patients, and interpret ABGs and cardiac dysrhythmias
• Respond to medical and trauma emergencies, including OB emergency deliveries, neuro-trauma, and orthopedic trauma
• Utilize specialized ER equipment such as rapid infusers, Lifepack monitors, and Glidescopes
• Float to Medical-Surgical and ICU units as needed; collaborate with PT, RT, pharmacy, and other clinical support teams
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
