PCU Nursing Job Details
- Location: Pocatello, Idaho (83201) – Idaho nursing jobs
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown / Telemetry
- Facility: 24-bed unit, comprehensive stroke center, Level II Trauma, Chest Pain Accredited
- Start Date: January 5, 2026
- End Date: April 6, 2026
- Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts per week (18:45 – 07:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Staffing Ratio: Typically 1:3 or 1:4
- Charting: Epic EMR (Epic experience required)
- 100-mile radius rule: Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Idaho or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, Stepdown, or Telemetry nursing experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Epic charting experience required
- Proficient in blood product administration, central line care, dysrhythmia interpretation, non-invasive airway management, and rapid response/code team participation
- Ability to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
- Must meet 100-mile radius requirement (no local candidates)
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients on a busy PCU/Stepdown/Telemetry unit
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; respond to changes promptly
- Administer blood products and manage central/peripheral lines
- Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for comprehensive patient care
- Participate in rapid response and code situations
- Document care and interventions accurately using Epic EMR
- Support patients recovering from procedures such as PCI and open-heart surgery
