PCU Nursing Job Details

Location: Pocatello, Idaho (83201) – Idaho nursing jobs
Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown / Telemetry
Facility: 24-bed unit, comprehensive stroke center, Level II Trauma, Chest Pain Accredited
Start Date: January 5, 2026
End Date: April 6, 2026
Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts per week (18:45 – 07:15)
Hours per Week: 36
Staffing Ratio: Typically 1:3 or 1:4
Charting: Epic EMR (Epic experience required)
100-mile radius rule: Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Idaho or compact state
Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, Stepdown, or Telemetry nursing experience
Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
Epic charting experience required
Proficient in blood product administration, central line care, dysrhythmia interpretation, non-invasive airway management, and rapid response/code team participation
Ability to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
Must meet 100-mile radius requirement (no local candidates)

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients on a busy PCU/Stepdown/Telemetry unit
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; respond to changes promptly
Administer blood products and manage central/peripheral lines
Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for comprehensive patient care
Participate in rapid response and code situations
Document care and interventions accurately using Epic EMR
Support patients recovering from procedures such as PCI and open-heart surgery
