• Unit: Neuro ICU (potential to float to Cardiothoracic ICU and other critical care units)
• Contract Type: Travel Nurse Contract
• Start Date: February 23, 2026
• End Date: May 25, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (07:00 - 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Weekend Requirement: Varies based on unit needs
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off up to 3 times during the assignment
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Scrub Color: Black
• Charting System: Cerner EMR
• Parking: Free onsite parking

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending license accepted)
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent ICU nursing experience (Neuro ICU experience required)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• No local candidates within 75 miles (New Mexico travel nursing jobs)
• Valid non-local Driver's License or transportation plan required
• First-time travel nurses welcome

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with complex neurological conditions: TBI, SAH, SDH, tumor resections, status epilepticus, and other neuro disorders
• Perform specialized procedures: EVD insertions, arterial line insertions, intubation, central line placement, CRRT, post-TPA and post-thrombectomy care
• Monitor and interpret ICP, ABGs, dysrhythmias; manage cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Deliver post-operative neuro care and manage ventilated patients
• Float to other ICUs, PCU, ED, and PACU as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner charting system
