Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Facility: Level I Trauma Center, Children's Hospital, Teaching Hospital
• Start Date: February 23, 2026
• End Date: May 25, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Weekly Hours: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Guaranteed Hours: Contracted weekly hours (facility may call off up to 3 times per assignment)
• Open Positions: 2
• Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per 4-week schedule (may vary by unit)
• Floating: Required to Med/Surg Tele, PCU, lower acuity settings, and ED within skillset

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – NM or compact state (NM license may be pending at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (No RQI certifications accepted)
• Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Ability to float to similar clinical units as needed
• COVID-19 and flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation)
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
• Personal transportation required

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using Phillips cardiac monitors
• Start and maintain IVs, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and more
• Float to PCU, lower acuity units, and Emergency Department (ED) as required
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR charting system
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Participate in orientation and required training modules
