Homecare RN Job Details
- Location: Chesapeake, Virginia (serving Chesapeake and Norfolk areas)
- Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shifts, 8-hour days (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Productivity: 30 points per week (average 5–8 patients/day)
- Territory: Travel up to 75 miles from home clinic; mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent Adult Home Health or Hospice RN experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia (Virginia nursing jobs – must have license in hand)
- CPR/BLS certification
- Proficiency in HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) EMR system (used within last 6 months or willing to retrain)
- Proficiency in OASIS documentation (used within last 6 months or willing to retrain)
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and auto insurance
- Willingness to travel between patient homes and attend periodic office meetings
- Open to on-call and weekend rotation as needed
- Ability to complete all documentation within 24 hours of patient visit
Homecare RN Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies
- Supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses
- Conduct home visits for start of care, wound care, follow-up visits, and other skilled nursing services
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using HCHB and OASIS
- Participate in periodic office meetings and collaborate with the clinical manager
- Ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Manage a caseload of 5–10 patients per day, meeting weekly productivity expectations
- Travel within assigned territory and provide care regardless of patient location
