Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Bloomington, Indiana (47408)
- Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
- Unit: ED Boarding / Acuity Adaptable Float
- Shift: Day shifts, 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30)
- Schedule: 3x12s or 4x12s (36-48 hours/week)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: January 13, 2026
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Guaranteed Hours: 36-48 hours/week
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana or compact state)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting system
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Ability to work in a team nursing model (RN/LPN)
- Willingness to float to PCU and other inpatient units as needed
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during contract
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- First-time travel nurses not accepted
- Out-of-state candidates only (local Indiana nurses not eligible)
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in an acuity-adaptable unit
- Manage patient ratios of 1:4-6 based on acuity and unit needs
- Float between Medical-Surgical, PCU, and ED Boarding units as required
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including LPNs and CNAs
- Efficiently perform admissions, discharges, and transfers in a high-turnover environment
- Utilize Cerner for accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and provide care for ventilated and cardiac patients
- Respond to rapid response and code situations
- Maintain isolation precautions and adhere to hospital protocols
