ER RN Job Details – Bloomington, IN
- Location: Bloomington, IN 47408 – Indiana nursing jobs in a thriving city with excellent dining, outdoor recreation, and cultural attractions.
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse position
- Unit: Emergency Room (ER)
- Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30)
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/13/2026, End: 4/14/2026)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: May float to nearby sister healthcare facilities as needed (rarely)
- Orientation: 12 hours
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience (travel nursing experience required)
- Active Registered Nurse license (Indiana or compact state; must be in hand prior to start date)
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE)
- Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
- Ability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment
- Out-of-state candidates only (locals not accepted for ER RN positions)
- Two supervisor references required
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
ER Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics)
- Perform triage, assessment, and rapid response interventions in a fast-paced ER setting
- Manage care for ventilated patients and those requiring continuous IV sedation
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
- Start and maintain IVs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
- Float to other nursing units or nearby healthcare facilities as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards
