ER RN Job Details – Virginia Travel Nursing

• Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Facility Type: Emergency Room, Level 2 Trauma Center
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (1/26/2026 – 4/27/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour evenings (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Job Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Orientation: Every other Monday

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department RN experience in a similar size ED
• Previous travel nurse experience required
• Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Centers
• Active Virginia or Compact Registered Nurse License (required at time of submission)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (Trauma Certification such as ATCN/TNCC/ATLS required)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Cerner EMR experience highly preferred
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application
• COVID/Flu vaccine declinations accepted with approved documentation
• Must be willing to work every other weekend
• Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in a busy Emergency Department
• Assess, triage, and manage patients with acute and emergent conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Utilize advanced clinical skills in trauma and emergency nursing situations
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR
• Participate in ongoing nursing education and orientation
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards
