ER RN Job Details – Virginia Travel Nursing
- Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia nursing jobs)
- Facility Type: Emergency Room, Level 2 Trauma Center
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (1/26/2026 – 4/27/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour evenings (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM), every other weekend required
- Hours per Week: 36
- Job Type: Travel Nursing Contract
- Orientation: Every other Monday
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department RN experience in a similar size ED
- Previous travel nurse experience required
- Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Centers
- Active Virginia or Compact Registered Nurse License (required at time of submission)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (Trauma Certification such as ATCN/TNCC/ATLS required)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Cerner EMR experience highly preferred
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of application
- COVID/Flu vaccine declinations accepted with approved documentation
- Must be willing to work every other weekend
- Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible
ER Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in a busy Emergency Department
- Assess, triage, and manage patients with acute and emergent conditions
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Utilize advanced clinical skills in trauma and emergency nursing situations
- Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR
- Participate in ongoing nursing education and orientation
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards
