Alaska Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Length: 16 weeks
• Start Date: January 18, 2026
• Location: Fairbanks, Alaska (99701) – Explore Alaska nursing jobs in a welcoming community
• Healthcare Setting: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• On-Call: Yes (including some weekends and holidays)
• Floating: No floating required
• Free Housing Provided

PACU RN Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent PACU Registered Nurse experience required (5+ years preferred)
• Active Alaska RN license
• Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications
• Must complete background fingerprinting within 48 hours of accepting the position

PACU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical procedures
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient status during recovery in a clinical support role
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
