• Location: Kankakee, IL 60901 (Illinois nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Medical Telemetry Unit
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel RN contract (Start: 1/19/2026 – End: 4/20/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (5:00 PM – 5:30 AM)
• Hours: 36 hours/week; every other weekend and holiday required
• Unit Size: 31 beds
• Orientation: 1 x 12-hour shift
• Charting System: EPIC (clinical support)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (required for Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry or Medical-Surgical RN experience
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Radial band and femoral cath recovery experience preferred
• Valid Driver's License required
• Preferred: Previous travel nursing experience

Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with CHF, stroke, chest pain, diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, detox, and cardiac conditions
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings (RNs read tele; centralized tele tech support available)
• Administer medications and manage set-rate drips (Lasix, heparin, bumex, protonix, octreotide)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including nurse aides and respiratory therapists
• Float to medical floors/step down units to care for telemetry-level patients as needed
• Accurately document patient care activities in EPIC
• Follow unit protocols, including wearing Caribbean colored scrubs
