• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:00pm – 6:30am)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
• Charting System: EPIC EMR

ER RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience in acute care settings
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Active RN license (Illinois or compact state)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (TNCC preferred for trauma nurses)
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to diverse patients in a 35-bed ER with 2 trauma bays
• Utilize advanced critical care nursing skills for trauma, stroke, STEMI, mental health, and pediatric emergencies
• Perform triage using ESI algorithm; deliver care in both fast track and main ER areas
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, LPNs, ER techs, and paramedics to optimize patient outcomes
• Monitor telemetry, administer critical care drips, perform blood draws and EKGs
• Work within a supportive team environment with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratios and 24/7 charge nurse support
• Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols
