Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Savannah, Georgia 31419
- Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – ER Holding/Stepdown
- Assignment Type: Travel RN Contract
- Start Date: January 5, 2026
- End Date: April 6, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Self-Scheduling: Available, balanced to department needs
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum 6 weekend days/nights per 6-week schedule
- Scrub Color: Navy
PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (Registered Nurse) in Georgia or compact state
- 2+ years of recent experience in Emergency Department or Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- At least 1 prior successful travel nursing assignment
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Strong professional references from recent healthcare assignments
- Proficient in cardiac monitor strip interpretation (Spacelabs monitors)
- Experience with MEDITECH charting
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care in the PCU/Stepdown ER holding area
- Manage patient ratios of 1:4-5, adjusting for acuity
- Collaborate with ED physicians, physician assistants (PAs), nurse practitioners (NPs), paramedics, and patient care technicians
- Perform and document cardiac monitoring, including reading and saving strips
- Draw labs as needed (no phlebotomy support in ER)
- Participate in self-scheduling and meet weekend/holiday requirements (must work 2 of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- Attend department-specific orientation during the first week
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, dress code, and patient safety standards
