ER RN Job Details – Austin, TX

• Location: Austin, TX 78704 (Texas healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 6, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), rotating weekends
• Hours per Week: 36
• Setting: Emergency Department (48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 Fast Track, 5 behavioral health beds)
• On-Site Position

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS
• Strong multitasking, teamwork, and self-starting skills
• Preferred: Meditech EMR experience, trauma nursing experience, inpatient holding experience, CPI certification
• Ability to work rotating weekends

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in a busy Emergency Department
• Perform and assist with ER procedures: splinting, EKGs, central monitoring, trauma assists, central lines, airway support, behavioral health de-escalation
• Utilize advanced medical equipment: Alaris pumps, rapid infusers, Stryker stretchers
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including paramedics, PCTs, LVNs, and physicians
• Maintain accurate documentation using MEDITECH EMR
• Follow all hospital policies and procedures, including dress code (navy blue scrubs for RNs)
• Promote a positive work environment and participate in unit committees and activities
