• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required at time of submission)
• At least 2 years of recent experience in cardiac stepdown or stepdown nursing jobs
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from Birmingham healthcare facility
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in cardiac patient conditions
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform cardiac monitoring
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare team members
• Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions and post-discharge care
• Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records
