- Shift: 12-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required at time of submission)
- At least 2 years of recent experience in cardiac stepdown or stepdown nursing jobs
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from Birmingham healthcare facility
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients
- Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in cardiac patient conditions
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform cardiac monitoring
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare team members
- Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions and post-discharge care
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records
