Key Job Details – ICU RN Travel Nursing in Nebraska

Location: Kearney, NE 68845 (Nebraska healthcare jobs)
Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/22/2025 – End: 3/23/2026)
Shift: 12-hour nights (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM), every other weekend required, up to 2 extra mandatory OT shifts per 6 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
Charting System: EPIC EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience required
Strong background in cardiac care; experience with Balloon Pump and Impella Pump preferred
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
Ability to float to PCU and Med Surg units as needed
Pediatric nursing experience highly preferred
Willingness to work weekends and holidays
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

ICU RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill adults and select pediatric patients in a 10-bed ICU (average daily census 5+)
Manage complex cases: open heart surgery, CHF, COPD, sepsis, CVAs with TPA, DKA, and more
Operate advanced cardiac devices including Balloon Pump and Impella Pump
Float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical Surgical units as needed
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
Document patient care using EPIC EMR system
Follow hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols
Adapt to changing unit requirements and flexible scheduling
