Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Tuscaloosa, AL 35401 – Explore Alabama nursing jobs in a vibrant college town with rich history and scenic parks along the Black Warrior River.
• Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
• Unit: Heart Failure / Stroke (Med/Surg Telemetry)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00-07:00), every other weekend, holidays as required
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours per week available)
• Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract (Start: 1/19/2026 – End: 4/19/2026)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Dress Code: Solid Navy scrubs
• Parking: On-site parking available
• EMR: Meditech

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing (required)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or Compact State (must be verified in NURSYS; no temporary licenses accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (will consider 18 months with at least 1 year in Med/Surg Tele specialty)
• Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, or Red Cross equivalent (required)
• Ability to float to other units and hospitals as needed

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients with neurological and cardiac conditions, including heart failure and stroke
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure best practice standards
• Monitor, assess, and document patient progress using Meditech EMR
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed
• Educate patients and families on condition management and recovery
• Float to other units or hospitals within the healthcare system as required
• Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and dress code requirements
