- Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Coverage: Required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
- Call Coverage: One shift per 6-week schedule
- On-Site Position: Travel nurse, on-site at the facility
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,730 - $1,820
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or valid compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience (adult & geriatric care)
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (American Heart Association preferred)
- Experience with Allscripts or Altera electronic charting systems preferred (EMR/clinical documentation)
- Ability to pass facility drug screen upon arrival (includes Marijuana)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Must reside at least 150 miles from facility if applying as a travel nurse (candidates 50+ miles away may be considered on a case-by-case basis)
- Resume and current RN license required at time of submission
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 13-bed Medical/Surgical unit
- Manage patient assignments at an expected ratio of 1:5
- Perform Med/Surg nursing skills: wound care, IV management, blood product administration, chest tube care, colostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), and other clinical procedures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services
- Accurately document patient care in the facility's electronic medical record (EMR)
- Participate in rapid response/code teams and provide clinical support during emergencies
- Educate and support patients and families throughout the hospital stay
- Provide on-call coverage as scheduled
