Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver acute inpatient dialysis care for patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), acute kidney injury (AKI), and pre/post kidney transplant care
  • Perform adult and pediatric hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis procedures
  • Operate Fresenius 2008T dialysis machines and Mobile Reverse Osmosis systems
  • Monitor and manage dialysis access, ultrafiltration, hemodynamic stability, and medication administration during treatments
  • Document assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately using Epic electronic health records
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams, rapid response, and transplant teams
  • Participate in on-call rotation and emergency response activities (includes hurricane season preparedness, June–November)
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, mandatory modules, and orientation requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Active South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license in hand prior to start (travel nurse credential requirement)
  • Minimum 1 year of acute dialysis nursing experience (hemodialysis/peritoneal dialysis)
  • BLS certification (required)
  • Comfortable providing care across the lifespan: infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics
  • Willingness to work every other weekend and participate in on-call rotation
  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Experience with Fresenius 2008T machines and Mobile Reverse Osmosis systems preferred
  • Prior experience in a Level I Trauma Center or Magnet hospital preferred
  • Familiarity with Epic EHR preferred

Job Details & Logistics

  • Patient Ratio: 1:2
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • On-Call: 2 weekday PM call shifts and 1 weekend PM call shift every 4 weeks
  • Scrub Color: Royal Blue
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Parking: Nights and weekends only; one-time $20 parking pass
