Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio (ZIP 43203) – Ohio nursing jobs
• Facility: Surgical Musculoskeletal Unit (Tower 9)
• Contract Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: January 26, 2026
• End Date: April 27, 2026
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
• Unit Size: 27 beds – focus on orthopedic surgery, musculoskeletal infections, and ortho trauma
• Orientation: 24-36 hours (dependent on prior experience and facility requirements)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience
• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (current and valid)
• Proficient in IV starts, telemetry, and intermediate care
• EPIC charting experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Ability to float to units of similar or lower acuity
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references (including one from a manager/director or formal leader)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with musculoskeletal infections, orthopedic trauma, and surgical needs
• Perform IV starts, manage telemetry monitoring, and deliver intermediate level care
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, apply isolation precautions, and utilize rapid response/code teams
• Care for patients with implanted antibiotic spacers and extremity wounds
• Utilize wound vac and Veriflo treatments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, physical therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, social services)
• Float to units of similar or lower acuity as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health records
