Med/Surg Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Manning, South Carolina (29102) – South Carolina healthcare jobs
• Assignment Type: Travel RN
• Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Schedule: Every other weekend required
• Duration: 13-week contract (Start: 1/18/2026 – End: 4/18/2026)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Nurse-Patient Ratio: 1:6

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Nursys verification required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, 2-Step PPD or IGRA, etc.)
• Background check, drug screen, and employment verification
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care and maintain a professional image in the Med/Surg unit
• Assess patient needs through history, observation, and physical examination
• Implement nursing interventions according to the plan of care and physician orders
• Conduct hourly rounds utilizing the 4 P’s
• Foster a caring and respectful environment for patients and visitors
• Utilize appropriate health and safety equipment for patient and staff protection
• Provide standard care for central lines, chest tubes, catheters, pressure ulcers, restraints, and high-fall-risk patients
• Precept and mentor novice employees as needed
• Participate in evidence-based practice initiatives and ongoing professional development
• Ensure proper storage and safety of medications
• Perform other duties as assigned
