Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active, unencumbered RN license (Kentucky or compact state preferred)
Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a PCU Registered Nurse or in an acute care/step-down unit
BLS certification (required)
ACLS certification (preferred for Progressive Care Unit RN jobs)
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in the Progressive Care Unit
Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient conditions
Administer medications, treatments, and prescribed interventions
Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and families to develop and implement care plans
Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge care
Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients and staff
