ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift Travel Nursing Job in Frankfort, Kentucky

ICU RN Job Details

Location: Frankfort, Kentucky 40601 (Kentucky nursing jobs)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/16/2026)
Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – 10 beds, patient ratios 2:1 or 3:1
Scheduling: Three 12-hour shifts per week, every other weekend required
On-Site Registered Nurse position

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience in a hospital setting
Active Kentucky or Compact RN License (Registered Nurse license in good standing)
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Current NIH Stroke Scale certification (renewed annually)
Clinical skills: CPAP/BiPAP management, port access, therapeutic phlebotomy
Preferred: Experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs, drains, post-dialysis assessment, central lines, blood transfusions, and ventilators
Ability to float to PCU, 3rd floor, or ED as needed
Must wear navy or gray scrubs

ICU RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in a 10-bed ICU
Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced life support and complex interventions
Operate Philips telemetry, Baxter pumps, iMobile, ventilators, and glucometers
Document patient care using Meditech Expanse
Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Coordinators, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Nurse Externs, and healthcare providers
Participate in unit-based initiatives, staff recognition programs, and interdisciplinary communication
Float to other hospital units as needed to support patient care
