ICU RN Job Details
- Location: Frankfort, Kentucky 40601 (Kentucky nursing jobs)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/16/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – 10 beds, patient ratios 2:1 or 3:1
- Scheduling: Three 12-hour shifts per week, every other weekend required
- On-Site Registered Nurse position
ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience in a hospital setting
- Active Kentucky or Compact RN License (Registered Nurse license in good standing)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Current NIH Stroke Scale certification (renewed annually)
- Clinical skills: CPAP/BiPAP management, port access, therapeutic phlebotomy
- Preferred: Experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs, drains, post-dialysis assessment, central lines, blood transfusions, and ventilators
- Ability to float to PCU, 3rd floor, or ED as needed
- Must wear navy or gray scrubs
ICU RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in a 10-bed ICU
- Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced life support and complex interventions
- Operate Philips telemetry, Baxter pumps, iMobile, ventilators, and glucometers
- Document patient care using Meditech Expanse
- Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Coordinators, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Nurse Externs, and healthcare providers
- Participate in unit-based initiatives, staff recognition programs, and interdisciplinary communication
- Float to other hospital units as needed to support patient care
