• Duration: 13-week travel contract
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:00), 3 shifts/week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:3
• Weekend Coverage: Minimum 7 weekend shifts per contract
• Orientation: 24 hours

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN required; BSN preferred)
• Active Arkansas or Compact State RN license (required at submission)
• Minimum 3 years of recent experience in PCU, ICU, or Step Down nursing
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required or obtained within first year
• NIHSS (Stroke Scale) certification required
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Basic computer proficiency; Cerner charting experience preferred
• Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting and rapid response in emergencies
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations in a 9-bed PCU setting
• Apply the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy)
• Manage patients with complex diagnoses: post-op cardiac/vascular surgeries, CHF, COPD, and more
• Perform and monitor specialized procedures (cardioversions, tracheostomy care, moderate sedation, central monitoring)
• Operate advanced medical equipment (monitors, Zoll defibrillators)
• Float to other hospital units as needed
• Ensure accurate documentation and participate in shared governance initiatives
• Promote evidence-based nursing care and a healing environment for patients and families
