Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Location: Kearney, Nebraska (Zip: 68845) – Nebraska nursing jobs
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nurse contract
- Healthcare Setting: Acute Care, Medical-Surgical Unit (23 beds)
- Nursing Shifts: 12-hour nights (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM), every other weekend required
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Start Date: December 22, 2025
- End Date: March 23, 2026
- Charting System: EPIC EMR
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state (Registered Nurse)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- NIHSS certification
- Ability to float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for Med/Surg assignments
- Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical support skills
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to Medical-Surgical patients
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress using EPIC EMR
- Administer medications, treatments, and clinical interventions as prescribed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans
- Float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) as required for Med/Surg assignments
- Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to hospital policies and safety standards
- Participate in required overtime shifts and holiday coverage as needed
