• Floating: May float to similar Med/Surg or Telemetry units as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license (required prior to start)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Telemetry competency required
• Previous charge nurse and community hospital experience preferred
• Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:6-7
• Willingness to float to similar units as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage cardiac drips (no titration), and respond to rapid response/code teams
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform wound care procedures
• Care for patients with diagnoses such as diabetes, hypertension, coronary artery disease (CAD), stroke (CVA), transient ischemic attack (TIA), and renal failure
• Document patient care using Epic electronic medical records (EMR)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Complete orientation and required modules prior to assignment start
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including emergency response assignments during hurricane season (June–November)
