PCU Nursing Job Details

  • Job Title: PCU Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Location: Derry, New Hampshire 03038
  • Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
  • Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/12/2026 – End: 4/13/2026)
  • Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU), 20 beds
  • Patient Ratio: 4:1
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or as needed
  • Dress Code: Professional attire (no required color for scrubs)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience in a hospital setting
  • Active RN license (Compact nursing license required at submission)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Strong dysrhythmia recognition skills and experience with critical drips
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Experience with GE cardiac monitoring and Hospira IV pumps preferred
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience with Expanse preferred

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to Progressive Care Unit patients, maintaining a 4:1 patient ratio
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, administer critical drips, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including RNs and LNAs to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Deliver pre- and post-cardiac cath and pacer patient care as needed
  • Float to Medical Surgical, ICU (for border patients), and Emergency Department (for ED holds) as required
  • Maintain accurate documentation using Expanse EMR
  • Demonstrate self-direction, confidence, and a positive attitude in all situations
