Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Springfield, TN 37172 (Tennessee healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Medical/Surgical Unit (MS2 & MS3)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Duration: 13-week nursing assignment
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; every other weekend required
• Unit Size: 27 beds per floor
• Patient Ratio: 5:1
• Technology: Computers on Wheels, Pyxis, Welch Allen vital sign machines
• Documentation: Medhost (transitioning to Meditech EMR)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Experience with post-operative and orthopedic patients highly desired
• Ability to float between MS2 and MS3 medical/surgical units
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Dark blue uniform required

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to medical/surgical and post-op patients, including orthopedic cases
• Monitor and perform blood transfusions, IV and central line maintenance
• Accurately document patient care using Medhost and Meditech EMR systems
• Collaborate with unit secretaries and techs to optimize patient outcomes
• Float between MS2 and MS3 units as needed for clinical support
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive healthcare environment
• Adhere to hospital policies and unit guidelines
