Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Macon, Georgia (31217) – Georgia nursing jobs
• Healthcare Setting: Level 2 Labor & Delivery Unit
• Contract Duration: 12 weeks (Start: 1/12/2026 – End: 4/6/2026)
• Nursing Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel RN job
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice and to nearby hospital as needed

L&D RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse experience (unit accepts first-time travel nurses)
• Active Georgia RN license or Compact State RN license
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP
• Clinical skills: Cesarean Section, D&C, Epidural Anesthesia, Insulin drips, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, Pitocin administration, IV management, Sterile vaginal exams, Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
• Ability to work major holidays as required by contract
• Two supervisory references preferred
• Compliance with facility onboarding and orientation requirements

L&D RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care for prenatal, antepartum, laboring, and postpartum patients
• Circulate and recover scheduled and stat C-sections
• Administer and monitor magnesium sulfate and Pitocin
• Perform amnioinfusions, amnioswabs, FSE placement, and D&C procedures
• Conduct triage and assessment of obstetrical patients
• Maintain central lines and manage IVs
• Utilize GE fetal monitors with Obix, Alaris IV pumps, and other specialized equipment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, and Pharmacy
• Float to other units within women's health services as needed
