ER RN Job Details
- Location: Albuquerque, NM 87106 (New Mexico healthcare jobs)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: March 9, 2026
- End Date: June 8, 2026
- Facility Type: Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital, Children's Hospital
- Shifts: 4x12-hour mid shifts (15:00 – 03:30); 36 or 48 hours/week available
- Patient Ratios: 1:5
- Guaranteed Hours: Contracted hours per week (facility may call off up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment)
- Weekend Coverage: Required as scheduled (Sat/Sun days; Fri/Sat/Sun nights)
- Charting System: Cerner
- Scrub Color: Black (not provided)
- Parking: Free
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (NM or compact; NM license may be pending at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience (Level I Trauma experience highly preferred; 1.5 years considered for exceptional candidates)
- Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers with strong Level I Trauma experience welcome
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC prior to submission), NIHSS (can be obtained prior to start)
- No local candidates within 75 miles
- COVID-19 and flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation)
- Ability to float to Adult PCU and ED Holding as needed
- Strong clinical skills in trauma/resuscitation, IV medication administration, and ventilated patient care
- Bar Code Medication scanning proficiency
ER Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to trauma and resuscitation patients
- Administer IV medications, monitor patient responses, and accurately document clinical findings
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
- Float to Adult PCU, ED Holding, and other units as required
- Maintain patient safety and infection control standards
- Participate in orientation and ongoing nursing education modules
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
