ICU RN Job Details

• Location: Carmel, IN 46032 (Indiana nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/13/2026 – End: 4/14/2026)
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Setting: 14-bed ICU, short-term acute care hospital
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Charting System: Cerner EMR
• Parking: Free onsite

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience (critical care nurse)
• Active Indiana RN license (must be in hand prior to start date)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (CCRN preferred)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Ability to float within scope to support hospital needs
• Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment
• Out-of-state travel nurse candidates only (locals not accepted)
• Two supervisor references required

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive care to adult and geriatric ICU patients with medical, surgical, and neurological conditions
• Operate advanced ICU equipment: ventilator management, arterial lines, central lines, IABP, CRRT, cardiac monitoring
• Administer emergency medications, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and perform procedural sedation
• Interpret 12-lead EKGs and manage acute stroke/CVA patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
• Float to other hospital units within scope as needed
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
