Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) – Ohio nursing jobs
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing
• Setting: Critical Care Float Pool (ICU)
• Start Date: February 9, 2026
• End Date: May 11, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shifts: Day shifts, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 36 hours/week)
• Weekend Coverage: Required (minimum every other weekend)
• Patient Population: Adults
• Float Requirement: Float to Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, and other critical care units

ICU Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact or Ohio state license
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients in various ICU settings
• Float between Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, and other critical care units
• Initiate and manage IVs, telemetry, and ventilator support
• Interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac dysrhythmias
• Administer emergency medications and titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Manage central lines, arterial lines, and assist with advanced procedures (EVD, chest tubes, lumbar drains)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC
• Follow infection prevention and isolation protocols
