• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Floating: Required to similar critical care units as needed
• Patient Ratio: 1:2

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license (required prior to start)
• Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU RN experience in an acute care setting
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (all required)
• Strong cardiac nursing experience required
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• Ability to float to similar critical care units as needed
• Must be able to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotation
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Local candidates within 60 miles not accepted
• First-time travel nurses not accepted

CVICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Cardiovascular ICU
• Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiovascular conditions, including post-open heart and cardiac surgery patients
• Operate advanced cardiac equipment: IABP, Impella, CRRT, Swan Ganz, cardiac output monitors, and temporary pacers
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Assist with procedures: chest tube insertion/removal, central line care, ventilator management
• Interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac dysrhythmias
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy and phlebotomy
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
• Follow infection prevention and isolation protocols
• Participate in emergency response teams as needed, especially during hurricane season (June–November)
