• Location: Rochester, NY 14621 – Upstate New York healthcare jobs near Lake Ontario, parks, and arts scene
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 2/22/2026 – End: 5/24/2026)
• Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), 8 beds, daily census of 7
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Float Requirement: ICU float as needed
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Orientation: 24 hours

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse license (must be in hand at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU experience (2 years preferred)
• Travel nursing experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:2
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

CVICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients, including heart failure and post-surgical cases
• Operate and monitor advanced cardiovascular equipment: CRRT, ECMO, LVAD/RVAD, balloon pumps, Impella, and ventilators
• Assist with procedures such as arterial line management, chest tube insertion/removal, and wound care
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medications
• Interpret arterial blood gases, dysrhythmias, and 12-lead EKGs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Float to other ICU units as needed
• Maintain strict infection prevention and isolation protocols
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
