- Location: Yuma, Arizona (85364) – Arizona healthcare jobs
- Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
- Assignment Type: Travel nursing job
- Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Labor & Delivery Unit
- Start Dates: 1/12/2026 or 1/19/2026 (Start dates are not flexible)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
- Open Positions: 4 L&D RN jobs available
- Weekend Requirement: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Holiday Requirement: 2 out of 3 holidays (eve/day of) during contract
- Scrubs: Hospital-provided
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license – Registered Nurse jobs in Arizona
- Minimum 1 year recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- Clinical skills: vaginal exams, scalp electrode placement, circulating C-sections, newborn transitions, IV starts, blood draws, APGAR assignments, postpartum hemorrhage control, epidurals, amnio infusions
- Experience titrating drips (Magnesium, Pitocin, insulin, blood)
- Preferred: Spanish-speaking skills and "spinning babies" techniques
- Comfortable with tele monitoring and high-acuity Labor & Delivery patients
L&D RN Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive care to laboring mothers and newborns in a 9-bed Labor & Delivery unit with 2 OR suites and 7 triage beds
- Manage an average of 9 births per day, following AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios
- Circulate C-sections and assist anesthesiology as needed
- Monitor and support patients with high-risk conditions such as hypertension and limited prenatal care
- Float to NICU, Pediatrics, Women's Health, MedSurg, or ICU as needed
- Provide care for antepartum patients and newborns for two hours post-delivery
- Document patient care using EPIC charting system
- Collaborate with OB Techs, charge nurses, and in-house OB/Neonatologists (24/7 coverage)
